Samuel Primed in 2017

January 23, 2017

Anyway I don’t know if you are following the numerology, but my son is at a prime number age and so am I.  The last time that I checked, 2017 is also a prime number.  Go ahead and dance around the room on that.

Christmas Season Jerez 2016

December 7, 2016

Also, you might want to head to Europe to see Black Jesus because the USA doesn’t have any.  Just the other day the jury responsible for determining the guilt of Walter Scott‘s killer was deadlocked in a mistrial.  Apparently, Black Jesus isn’t going to save anybody in South Carolina any time soon and there is still no semblance of justice.  Click on the link for Exhibit A.  I get the feeling that there are going to be a lot more martyrs for the Black Lives Matter movement to proselytize.

Enjoy my family video to help take your mind away from all the madness.  There will be no Christmas cards this year because we are terrifically poor, but at least they aren’t filming Black death on the streets and allowing the murderer to go free.  Check out an article here in ColorLines by Kenya Rankin about the mistrial of Michael Slager. Yeah, so then there’s that.  Merry Christmas everyone.

Formula V8 World Series is in Jerez

October 26, 2016

My October surprise this US election year was completely unexpected: Europe has their own version of the World Series.  (For the free.)  October 29th and 30th.

Just trust me, this is official and they mean that you can bring your family for free.

I must be turning into my father because the words “free for the family” are like sweet music to my ears and command my full attention.  This weekend the Formula V8 World Series Festival is in Jerez de la Frontera and they have extended an invitation to all of the families in this wonderful city to participate in two days of racing.  You can download your free invitation and take as many as you need from here but my guess is that if you were in town, I would have known about it and already told you.

Jerez de la Frontera, Spain is really a city that loves their motor sports.  At first I thought that it was just motorcycles and bicycles but now I realize that the people aren’t afraid to let loose on their main avenues.  Jerez isn’t just the city of horses that happens to be named after the fabulous wines of the region.  Xerezanos-Jerezanos have also embraced some cool modern traditions.  Motor sports have been a big deal in Jerez for a while and now I am contemplating a whole new tag in my sports section.

Anyway, rock out to my self-filmed hype video when team AVF and pilot Alfonso Celis, Jr. took over the main street leading to the center of the city.  Enjoy this treat!

I’ve Had Enough of Your Photo Crap, Mom Super Bowl Sunday Edition

February 1, 2015

I chose this video to represent Super Bowl Sunday because it cuts off at a point where my momma has had enough of my taking pictures all the time.  Like Momma can just give a look that can end a film.

Dad liked to take a lot of pictures of all three of his kids and I guess I got the bug from him.  Mom would always be complaining because he was never in any of the pictures that he took.  I solved the problem by being hip to the technology game and going with the flow whenever I can.  I also try to sprinkle myself in a bit so that my son will be able to see me in these shots, too.

I’m vain like that.  Also, really lazy.  Google+ basically does all the work for you and YouTube handles the rest.  Anyway that is a free parenting and photography tip in there for your Super Bowl Sunday.
